Here, the terms emotion and feeling are used interchangeably. Both trust and emotional explanations seek to explain when actors in exchange are likely to develop a commitment to each other or their relationship (Cook and Emerson 1978; Kollock 1994, 1999; Lawler and Yoon 1993).
