This outline lacks the fourth element, the persuasive element or argumentative purpose; without it the reader may question: So what? What is the point? Where is this leading? The essential element of research texts is that they have an argumentative purpose (Maner 1996) that runs through the entire text, and which narrative, descriptive or expository passages support.

Hospital nurses are reliant upon a doctor as much of their work requires 'supervision'. In hospitals, nurses are not allowed to diagnose, take x-rays, discharge patients, prescribe, dispense or supply medications.
