The most important factor is that Aladai is a puppet who has been groomed by his uncle Makurdi to play a part that is beyond his powers. His natural character of feeling has been violated and he has the misfortune to find himself, like Henry VI, a potential ruler who does not possess to any significant extent the natural abilities necessary for the successful performance of that function.
